Off the Page: an evening of queer comics readings

Chicago is a city of queers and a city of cartoonists. Don't miss this night where the two collide in OFF THE PAGE! Five cartoonists will perform their work—interpreting their art through live readings with a variety of performance styles.

Doors at 6pm with a one hour happy hour before our event starts at 7pm. Dorothy remains open after the event until last call at 11pm.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $17 at the door.

Dorothy is 21+ and requires physical ID for all to enter. Dorothy is also ADA accessible with elevator access on Campbell Ave. If you are a guest who requires elevator access, please wait by the black door on Campbell Ave with our logo in the window and call our staff to assist: 773-770-3799

ABOUT THE COMICS + PRODUCERS

Sam Szabo is a cartoonist and printmaker from the North Shore of Massachusetts. She has seen Phish live twenty-eight times.

Kelly Wang is a cartoonist, musician, and printmaker based in Chicago. They currently self-publish their work through their own small risograph press REESO PRESS and play music.

Jen Chavez is a chicana illustrator born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. Her zines and comics focus on various mental illnesses, troubles with Catholicism, and the occasional natural disaster.

Bridget Bilbo (they/them) is a comix artist, freelance Illustrator, and occasional tattoo artist based in Chicago. They love Illustrating stories about human connection, magic, and making dumb dad jokes! They work in a variety of mediums spanning from riso printing, storyboarding, and sometimes digital painting.

Ellie Gerken is a Cartoonist and Illustrator from Washington state, currently working in Chicago. They are big fan of long pondering looks, the vast expanse of the ocean, and drawing trees.

Jaime Dear is part of the Strange Deer Press comic & zine collective. Their comics include the softball romance, Pivot, and the synesthesia zine, The Shape of All Time. They are currently working on zines for the Mississippi Five Campaign to bring justice for incarcerated folks.

Teddie Bernard is a queer cartoonist, writer.They spend their time refurbishing obsolete printers and researching obscure lesbians. He currently draws his comics in Chicago, where he wishes for colder weather.
