Love in Process: a short film fundraiser event

  • Dorothy 2500 West Chicago Avenue Chicago, IL, 60622 United States (map)

Join us for a special fundraiser to support the production of “Love in Process”, an upcoming dramatic short film exploring a hidden lesbian love story through the eyes of a young photographer.

“Love in Process” follows Gracie, a quiet photographer, who stumbles upon a series of old photographs. As she uncovers the concealed love story behind these images, Gracie embarks on a journey of self-discovery and courage. Struggling to embrace her own identity and feelings for her girlfriend, Phoebe, Gracie confronts the complexities of queer relationships and the legacies of those who came before her. This heartfelt narrative explores vulnerability, love, and the power of self-acceptance.

Each ticket purchased helps get this team closer to their goal of $10,000. Join us for a variety show of performances and to support the importance of queer filmmaking and stories.

Doors at 6pm and the showcase begins at 7pm. Dorothy remains open to the public after the event until 10pm.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

Dorothy is 21+ and requires physical ID for all to enter. Dorothy is also ADA accessible with elevator access on Campbell Ave. If you are a guest who requires elevator access, please wait by the black doors on Campbell Ave and call our staff to assist: 773-770-3799

MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT

Our Fundraising Goal: We aim to raise $10,000 to bring this important story to life. Reaching 80% of our goal gives us the green light to begin production, with funds allocated for cast, crew, equipment, and more. At 100%, we’ll also cover post-production, and film festival submissions, and provide stipends to our hardworking producers. If we exceed our goal, we’ll be able to pay our cast and crew closer to their full rate and thank those who've generously donated locations for our shoot.

Why Support Us? Your donation will help shine a light on diverse queer narratives, celebrating representation both in front of and behind the camera.
